GMS Group - Walking Football, Chess & T-Shirt
Warrens Hall - Bowls, Memory Game, & T-Shirt

Our culture at GMS Group and Warrens Hall Riding School has always strived to support local community based charities and Headway Worcestershire fits perfectly. As two businesses we not only wish to support the ABI Games in August from a funding perspective, but also operationally with staff volunteers for the day.

Myself, Neil Male, on a personal level want to help the charity reach a wider commercial audience whilst increasing awareness of their mission.

By both Mandie & I building a strong personal and commercial relationship this can lead to long term partnership that will benefit both parties.

By getting involved, we’re helping ensure the continuity of these vital events, and supporting the important work Headway does in rebuilding lives.

Walking Cricket

BackLand & Planning is a small consultancy run by Director and owner, Sarah Smith, that specialises in assisting individuals and /or companies navigate the complex world that is the town planning system in the UK. The business began life in May 2023, as an escape from the corporate world and an attempt to achieve an improved work-life balance, including being able to take regular ‘time out’ to disappear to Africa and undertake voluntary work with local communities and wildlife conservation.

"I have always been an avid cricket fan and Worcestershire supporter and would have loved the opportunity to play at school (and later in life). I also score cricket matches for the Old Vigornians (my old alumni school cricket club) in the Worcestershire league in the summer and have done so for the last four years.

Sport/games is a great leveller and brings people together; it is also hugely important for mental and physical health and wellbeing and I firmly believe that everyone, no matter their ability, disability or difficulties in life should have the opportunity to partake and compete. So when I visited Headway and heard about the Games and found that the cricket needed a sponsor, it was the natural thing for me to do."

Walking Rugby & T-Shirt

We at Howden visited the team at Headway in Worcester and were blown away with all the positive work they are doing. They really are making a difference, not only to individuals but to families too.

Tallest Sunflower

Nicol & Co is deeply committed to supporting the local community, going beyond just being a leading estate agency. The company believes in making a real difference by giving back to the areas it serves, whether through charitable partnerships, sponsorships, or hands-on involvement in local initiatives.

From fundraising for vital causes like Headway’s ABI Games to supporting schools, sports clubs, and community events, Nicol & Co actively invests in projects that improve people’s lives. Their approach isn’t just about donations—it’s about genuine engagement, creating lasting relationships, and ensuring their success benefits the wider community.

This community-minded ethos is woven into everything they do, reinforcing their reputation as not just a trusted estate agent but a business that truly cares about the people and places they serve.

Woodwork

The Blind Craftsman, create unique handcrafted wooden gifts with heart and soul. Founder, Mark Hulme, has loved woodworking for years, and after losing his sight in 2022, he found new ways to keep his passion alive. Using touch and intuition, he crafts beautiful, personalised pieces from his workshop at Headway Worcestershire.

Every item tells a story and is made with care, creativity, and dedication. Whether you’re looking for a special gift or something just for you, Mark’s work is all about turning wood into something truly meaningful.

Pottery

Pottery can be a holistic activity that nurtures both mental and physical health. I have been very fortunate in my life to have been involved in pottery from an early age.

In the classes I run I have witnessed how people find pottery to benefit mindfulness with stress reduction, increasing their emotional expression, developing their fine motor skills and coordination, boosting their self esteem and providing a route for social connection. The work that Headway Worcestershire does develops all those things through a range of activities and I am very happy to support them in their critical support work.

Creative Writing

On Good Friday this year I kayaked 38 miles down the River Severn with a team of eight colleagues to raise £11,000+ for Headway Worcestershire. The funds raised via this event make a real difference to those living with an ABI in the region. I’ve been fortunate to visit Headway Worcestershire’s HQ in the heart of the city to see the range of activities those living with an ABI can experience. If you have the opportunity, do visit the Gregory’s Mill Street site, you’ll be amazed at the breadth of activities undertaken and the talents exhibited in areas such as woodwork and art.

It’s a privilege for Business Doctors Worcestershire to be a sponsor of the ABI Games. Every participant in the ABI Games is a beautiful illustration of people setting out to push the boundaries of their potential. The spirit of the games promotes friendship, excellence and respect. It’s great to see the number of participants growing from one ABI Games to the next and I encourage anyone reading this to come along on August 20, cheer on the participants and be uplifted by everything you see.

Thank you, Headway Worcestershire for hosting these Games, good luck to every participant, by taking part, you’re winning already!
